PC-FR为聚碳酸酯基材料，在UL94阻燃测试中达到VO性能，具有优异的韧性、强度和耐热性。这种长丝在汽车、铁路和航空航天工业中开辟了新的应用。F R/PC比PC的耐疲劳强度提高2-3倍，耐应力开裂性能可提高6—8倍，耐热性比PC提高10-20 ℃,线膨胀系数缩小为1.6-2.4×10-6m/℃，因而可制成耐热的机械零件。
